These Community Guidelines set out the standards of conduct that apply to Users of FAST ISB Portal and to the community-facing content they create. They supplement the Terms & Conditions and apply to Marketplace, Notices, Lost & Found, messaging, Connections, profiles and FAST Salah.

FAST ISB Portal is an independently developed student utility platform. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by FAST-NUCES. Terms used in these Guidelines have the meanings given in the Terms & Conditions.

1.Purpose and Scope

1.1

The Portal serves a university community and depends on the accuracy and good faith of its Users. These Guidelines state the conduct that is expected and the conduct that is not permitted.

1.2

These Guidelines apply to all User Content and to all interaction between Users in the Portal. They apply in addition to the Acceptable Use provisions of the Terms & Conditions and, for Marketplace, the Marketplace Guidelines.

2.General Principles

2.1

Users are expected to observe the following principles:

  • Respect. Treat other Users with courtesy and respect their right to decline contact.
  • Truthfulness. Provide accurate information and do not knowingly mislead others.
  • Safety. Do not endanger, threaten or intimidate any person, and take reasonable care when meeting another User in person.
  • Lawfulness. Do not use the Portal for any unlawful purpose.
  • Good faith. Use each feature for its intended purpose and do not abuse the Portal or its safety features.

3.Prohibited Conduct

3.1

The following conduct is not permitted anywhere in the Portal:

  • Harassment, bullying, stalking or abuse directed at any person.
  • Threats of harm or intimidation.
  • Impersonation of any person, society, department, office or FAST-NUCES, or misrepresentation of an affiliation.
  • Fraud, scams, deceptive claims and knowingly false information.
  • Spam, repeated unwanted contact and unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Malicious links, files or code, and content intended to obtain credentials or harm a device.
  • Prohibited transactions, including the sale of illegal or dangerous goods, stolen items, counterfeit goods and weapons.
  • Abuse of the reporting or blocking features, including false or retaliatory reports.
  • Attempts to manipulate or misrepresent a classification or label, including Official, Verified, Community, Sponsored and Paid promotion.
  • Exploitation of a vulnerability or circumvention of a security control.
  • Collection or misuse of another User's personal information, and attempts to identify a User who has chosen to remain anonymous.
  • Content that is explicit, or that is abusive, hateful or otherwise inappropriate for a university community.

4.Profiles

4.1

A profile should use the User's own name or a name by which the User is genuinely known, and should not suggest that the User is another person or an official representative of an organization. A department or biography is declared by the User and is not verified by the Portal.

4.2

A profile photograph or cover photograph must not contain explicit, abusive or unlawful material, and must not use another person's image without permission.

5.Messaging and Connections

5.1

A Connection request should have a genuine academic, course-related, study, project, society, campus-related or similarly appropriate purpose, and the purpose selected should be accurate.

5.2

A request or message must not be used for harassment, repeated unwanted contact, sexual or romantic solicitation, or the collection of personal information. A User who declines or ignores a request, or who blocks another User, must be left alone.

5.3

A User may send a request anonymously. Anonymity does not remove accountability to the Portal, and no User may try to identify an anonymous User or pressure a User to disclose an identity. Identities are revealed only when both Users agree.

5.4

Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. A User should not send passwords, payment details or government identification numbers.

6.Marketplace

6.1

A Marketplace Listing must describe the actual item accurately, state a genuine price and condition, and be posted only by a seller who owns the item or has the right to sell it. Prohibited items may not be listed, and duplicate or spam listings are not permitted.

6.2

Buyers and sellers must communicate honestly and respectfully, must not pressure or deceive each other, and should meet in public places on campus. The Portal does not handle payments or deliveries, and disputes are resolved between the Users concerned.

6.3

The full standards are set out in the Marketplace Guidelines.

7.Notices

7.1

Only approved publishers can publish Notices. A Notice must be accurate, must not mislead readers about its source, and must carry the classification and content labels that apply to it.

7.2

No User may claim, imitate or manipulate Official or Verified status, and Sponsored and Paid promotion content must not be presented as an official announcement. A Sponsored Notice cannot be Official, and Paid promotion is not an endorsement.

8.Lost & Found

8.1

Lost & Found is for genuine lost and found items on campus. A report must be truthful, a User must not claim an item that is not the User's own, and the section must not be used for buying, selling or advertising.

8.2

Active reports are publicly visible. A User should avoid including sensitive personal information, and should meet in a public place on campus when returning an item.

9.FAST Salah and Jama'ah

9.1

A Jama'ah Session may be created only by a User who genuinely intends to organize or attend the prayer, and the information provided must be accurate. Fabricated or misleading sessions, inflated participant counts, automated participation and the use of notes for harassment are not permitted.

10.Reporting

10.1

A User who encounters content or conduct that breaches these Guidelines is encouraged to report it. A Marketplace Listing can be reported from its listing page. A User, a Connection request or a message can be reported from the Connections and Chat screens. Any other matter can be reported to the contact address below.

10.2

The following categories can be used to prepare a report by email to wamizphantom@gmail.com.

10.3

Reports must be made in good faith. Knowingly false, repeated or retaliatory reports are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.

11.Enforcement

11.1

Reports and other concerns are reviewed by the Portal Operator. There is no separate moderation team or review service.

11.2

Where a breach is found, the Portal Operator may take one or more of the following actions, depending on the seriousness and repetition of the conduct:

  • remove or restrict the Content concerned;
  • place a Marketplace Listing under review or remove it;
  • restrict a feature, such as messaging, Connection requests or Jama'ah Sessions; or
  • suspend or terminate the Account.

Review of an action

11.3

The Portal does not operate a formal appeals process. A User who wishes to have an action reviewed may write to wamizphantom@gmail.com, and the Portal Operator will consider the request at its discretion. Further provisions are in the Terms & Conditions.
